Heberlein® Splicers
A perfect splice is created by joining the ends of two yarns and intermingling by using compressed air. The resulting joint exhibits high uniformity and base yarn strength. In contrast to a knotted joint, a splice causes less problems in the following process since the yarn has a more uniform structure. The process is simple: two separate yarn ends are placed into a blowing chamber, the actuator button is pushed and the blow chamber closes around the yarn ends. The filaments are intertwined by blowing air into the chamber so that the individual filaments are tightly bound together without any tight node or knot forming. The knives within the chamber cut off the tails or residual yarn ends providing a splice quality so exact that some operations have experienced nearly 100% in transfer efficiencies.
Heberlein offers three types of Splicers which are available to handle a wide range of yarn types. Heberlein will perform testing on your yarn to evaluate which is best suited for your needs.
